Our staff

Across our three centers, Expressive Beginnings employs almost 100 staff members. Meet the directors of each center below.

Andrea McKenna, director at Expressive Beginnings in Greece, received her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Oswego in 2002. Andrea began her career in child care teaching preschool and moved on to be an administrator at a child care center. In 2007, Andrea began working for Child Care Council, Inc., training child care providers and assisting people in opening child care centers. She also became certified in The Program for Infant and Toddler Care and received the New York State Early Learning Trainer Credential. Andrea was also an integral member of the team that developed that program at Expressive Beginnings in Henrietta including building design, classroom layouts and curriculum.

Andrea shares, "I love this quote by Bev Bos, 'If it hasn't been in the hand...and the body...it can't be in the brain.' because it validates everything that we do in our program. Children need hands-on, meaningful experiences so that they can grow up to be thoughtful, creative thinkers."

Kelly Giudice received her bachelor’s degree in sociology from SUNY Brockport in 1997 and has been the director at Expressive Beginnings at Toddler’s Workshop and Railroad Junction since 2006. Prior to that, she was the center director and the site director at another program, giving her more than 20 years in the field of early childhood education. Her mission is to create communities that support the social, emotional, collaborative and creative intelligence of each child.

Kelly shares, "I've been drawn to children all of my life; the joy they exude and the way they throw their whole selves into everything that they do keeps me young at heart and excited about what each day will hold. Being with them, advocating for them, and creating safe, nurturing, playful environments where they can express themselves is my life's work, and I'm loving every minute of it!"

Becky Meagher, director at Expressive Beginnings in Henrietta, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from St John Fisher College in 2005. She was an employee of Heritage Christian Services, Expressive Beginnings parent company, for 10 years and began working at EBCC Henrietta in 2011 as a pre-k teacher where she was a part of the team to open the center and welcome the first children to be served. Since starting she has also held associate director and assistant director positions before being promoted to center director in 2017.

Becky shares, “My passion has always been the education of young children; encouraging them as they explore and learn through authentic, meaningful play is one of my greatest joys. As Director my goal is to provide a loving, safe environment for all children to learn and grow.”
